Radici .... Cucina
Ingredients:
· 4 eggs, separated
· 3-4 tablespoons sugar
· 1 cup (250 ml) milk
· juice of 2 organic oranges
· juice of an organic lemon
· grated zest of one orange
· 2 cups (500 ml) whipped cream
· 4 eggs, separated
· 3-4 tablespoons sugar
· 1 cup (250 ml) milk
· juice of 2 organic oranges
· juice of an organic lemon
· grated zest of one orange
· 2 cups (500 ml) whipped cream
Preparation:
Beat the yolks with the sugar until the mixture is yellow and fluffy, then mix in the fruit juice. Bring the milk to a boil with the orange zest, let it cool, and add it to the yolks, passing it through a strainer. Heat the mixture over a double boiler, stirring it gently with a spoon, until it thickens - be careful not to let it boil, or it will curdle. Allow it to cool.
When the milk mixture has cooled, beat the whites to firm peaks. Fold the egg whites and the whipped cream into it. Pour the mixture into your ice cream machine following manufacturer’s instructions.
Delicious served with chocolate bickies or even chocolate gelato!
